New site theme

Posted: 21st October 2009 by Ryan in Site news

Today, I’ve made some changes to the site, for the first time in like a year.

-New theme installed and activated: Mystique
This new theme is a different color scheme than before, and has 2 sidebars instead of everything on the right bar.
It’s more modern and custom looking, and I really like the way it looks.
What do you think?

-Updated a bunch of the plugins to new versions – bug fixes all around.

-Created a daily digest that will post articles from a few of my other favorite sites.

There is still 1 bug, that so far, I can’t find a fix for … but I’m working on it.
The bug is in the Site User Profiles page (click on the tab at the top of the page).
Anyone else running WordPress and have this issue?

That’s it for now!

Loving the theme, new but not cluttered. Just curious, how many plugins are you running? My server is a shared one (of course) from Bluehost, and it can only run 15 or so before I’ve allocated all of my memory. I would like to try some things like the SMS Updates, but I’ve got too many other plugins running right now that are necessary for the site.

23 plugins, and it’s still fairly peppy. I’m on a shared server too which explains some of the slowness in the first page load, due to the shared SQL db, but it’s also a whole crap-load of PHP files to parse (WordPress itself plug plugins) so that’s not helping.

Figured out the bug with the User Profiles. It’s an old plugin that is no longer maintained and the database schema changed with some previous update to WordPress. So long to that plugin … actively searching for a new one.
